ELAC
ELAC series is a water-based acrylic/epoxy lacquer that produces a clear protective topcoat on solid brass, as well as electroplated or mechanically finished brass. ELAC lacquers also can be applied to nickel, bronze, zinc, silver and various other metal finishes. The deposit is completely uniform in full range of current density areas with no runs, teardrops or bare spots. After curing, the ELAC finish resists corrosion and improves wear properties while maintaining the color and brightness of the original finish. The ELAC lacquer process is engineered for inhibiting oxidation on the design layer of metal substrates. ELAC is electrophoretically deposited and not merely dipped or sprayed as are conventional lacquers. The coating of ELAC is deposited as a final processing step in a plating or cleaning sequence. It is not necessary to rerack or double-handle items for deposition or curing. ELAC is ideally suited as a post treatment over nickel in a variety of building hardware applications and many colours.
