CUSTAR
CUSTAR is a dye-free and methanol-free, bright acid copper process that produces a brilliant and highly ductile copper layer with adjustable leveling performance. The deposits can be used as an intermediate layer for a variety of nickel-chromium layer systems on plastics such as ABS and PC/ABS or on metal.
CUSTAR provides high yields and low rejects rates on all commonly used base materials. The variable leveling performance enables the plating of complex plastic parts that are prone to defects such as orange peel, over leveling or flame patterns.
CUSTAR’s advantages
• Consistent Brightness. CUSTAR deposits maintain brightness over the entire current density range. The brightener additives are very stable, resulting in consistent production performance with low consumption.
• High Leveling. CUSTAR delivers uniform and consistent deposits over the entire surface area, as well as exceptional throwing power.
• Not Susceptible to Pits and Pores. CUSTAR eliminates the potential for pores and pits, and is not prone to burning high current density areas. Therefore, it is especially suited for deposition on bulk components with complex shapes and parts with high current density areas.
• Ductile Deposits. The deposited copper layers are very ductile with low internal stress. CUSTAR is ideally suited for plating-on-plastics and metal.
