CUMAX
CUMAX bright acid copper processes produce a brilliant and highly ductile copper layer with adjustable leveling performance. The deposits can be used as an intermediate layer for a variety of nickel-chromium layer systems on plastics such as ABS and PC/ABS or on metal.
The process provides high yields and low rejects rates on all commonly used base materials. The variable leveling performance enables the plating of complex plastic parts that are prone to defects such as orange peel, over leveling or flame patterns.
CUMAX’s advantages
• Excellent Brightness.
CUMAX deposits maintain excellent brightness over the entire current density range. The brightener additives are very stable, resulting in consistent production performance with low consumption.
• High Leveling.
CUMAX is ideal for parts that require high leveling as the process delivers uniform and consistent deposits over the entire surface area, as well as providing exceptional throwing power.
• Design Versatility.
Unlike other dye-based acid coppers, the ability to adjust the leveling performance of CUMAX enables the plating of complex plastic parts that are prone to defects such as orange peel, over leveling or flame patterns.
• Low Pore Sensitivity.
CUMAX is highly tolerant to pores and is not prone to burning high current density areas. Therefore, it is especially suited for deposition on bulk components with complicated shapes and parts with high current density areas.
• Excellent Adhesion.
Adhesion between CUMAX copper layers and subsequent nickel layers is excellent.
• Ductile Deposits. The deposited copper layers are very ductile with low internal stress. Thus, CUMAX is ideally suited to plating on plastics.
