CRAX BL dusk is an environmentally-friendly trivalent chromium plating process that deposits a dark decorative chromium layer over bright or satin nickel deposits. The UV stable CRAX BL dusk deposit is consistent over normal current density ranges. The process is also tolerant to current interruptions, provides more uniform metal distribution and reduces or eliminates high current density burning. Because CRAX BL dusk deposits pass more than 80 hours of CASS (in conjunction with multilayer nickel systems) and meet most OEM exterior specifications, it can be used for both interior and exterior applications. For automotive applications, the process is highly tolerant to attack from calcium chloride containing salts. When used in combination with an NIPEARL satin or BRAINICK bright nickel process or with a MICRONICK microporous nobel nickel, CRAX BL dusk provides exceptional CASS performance. The dark, lustrous CRAX BL dusk coating is ideally suited for a diversity of decorative applications where fashion finishes are critical to product differentiation.
